Our entire existence is based on the roles that are assigned to us when we are born. Naturally, our experiences are a reflection of how we perform in the theatre of life. As a child when you took part in your school’s annual function event, it took months and months of practice for you to finally perform on stage in front of hundreds of people. And yet you managed to mess up sometimes. Now imagine that you are about to step on the stage of life as yourself, except you don't have a coach, no training, and most of all you have no clue of what the entire performance is about. What will you do? A friend of mine had an interesting answer: “You make choices. Every single one of these choices will create the life that you'll look back at when it's time for you to step off the stage. “ ----------- “Did I spend my entire life running after materialistic things that I forgot to spend time with my loved ones?” “Was I a good friend?” “Was I a kind, empathetic and helpful person or was I mean, selfish and competitive all the time?” “Was I open enough to learn from my mistakes?” ----------- This week, I encourage you to reflect on the choices you are currently making that will shape you into the person you will become five and ten years down the lane. I hope you choose to be kinder and braver. I hope you choose to not give up even if everything seems out of place right now. I hope you choose to take out time to check up on friends and family. And I hope you choose to constantly remind yourself that you are loved and valued at all times, by yourself above all.
